Familiarity with a variety of software applications including Solidworks, the Adobe Creative Suite, Wordpress, and various other web, office, and graphic programs; Comfortable with basic electronics (circuitry, etc.); Strong command of a wide range of materials and processes used in the worlds of art, craft and design; Quick in understanding new technologies and their significance; Can work well alone, on teams, and with a wide variety of personality types; Organized, very adaptive, and excellent with brainstorming, mind-mapping and problem solving, as well as an ability to think and design objectively.

Work Experience

2008– ’09

Freelance

Lead designer on prototype development, product development, and graphic design-related projects including prototype design/ development/ fabrication for a collaboration between the Lifespan Medical Research Group, RISD, and Hasbro. Similar services were also provided for various businesses and private projects.


2007– ’08

Joneso Design & Consulting, Inc.

A lead designer on the Brijo Project; an entrepreneurial endeavor which seeks to revolutionize the implementation of police cruiser technology. Please see www.jonesodesign.com for more information. Key roles include:

  • Product design, ideation, and development
  • Prototype development : model making, component design, CAD, manufacturer and vendor sourcing, assistant to the engineer
  • Creation & direction of an after-school design program for middle school students
  • Design and maintenance of the original Brijo website (currently archived at: www.brijovehicle.com)

2005– ’06

Freelance

Services in creative assistance, consulting, prototyping and model making for various design pursuits, including concept development for a new line of products for Conair.


2002– ’05

RISD Model Shop Monitor / Assistant Technician

Insured safety and proper operation of shop facilities and resources, maintained neatness of shop workspace, attend to minor problems with machinery and hand tools; helped students make informed decisions about their processes and use of materials.

Massachusetts Institute of Technology

(product development course)

Semester long interdisciplinary team project. Efforts were focused on user studies, concept development/ ideation, product design, generation of a functional alpha prototype, and working business model.


2001- ‘03

Freelance

  • Developed concepts for Scunci’s “Hype Hair” line of products.
  • Basic CAD work and assistance in the creation of a short run of medical products
